SERVICES:
Liz tutors high school and college students in content- specific coursework as well as executive function skills. She specializes in literature, but works with all humanities disciplines. She also helps students with the college or graduate school essay. Liz has become an expert at helping students who have learning differences and/or mental health challenges. She helps students break down intimidating assignments into digestible parts, and teaches them a reading and writing process that will work for them.
BIOGRAPHY:
A 20 year educator with a BA and MA in literature, Liz taught English at area independent schools for the majority of her career, and also taught in the writing program at GW. Since 2019, Liz has brought her teaching experience to the young adult clients at The Dorm, a mental health treatment center. Her clients need support as they embark back on a path to college or beyond. She has private tutoring clients, as well.
In 2013, Liz earned the title of “Master Teacher." Liz won four NEA fellowships to study literature. She is a published author, with articles in scholarly journals.
