SERVICES:
Psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults hoping to understand and improve their emotional well being, academic performance, social relationships, or sense of identity. Psychological testing and personality assessment, ages seven to adult. Parent counseling. Special interests: adolescent and adult mood difficulties, multi-handicapped children, and the interaction between emotional and cognitive barriers to learning and adaptation.
BIOGRAPHY:
I am a former middle and high school English and social studies teacher, with M.A. and M.A.T. degrees from Brown University. My Ph.D. is from the University of Chicago’s Committee on Human Development. I completed psychoanalytic training at the Washington Psychoanalytic Institute. I am a former staff psychologist (1988-1998) and Chief Psychologist and Director of Psychology Training (1998-2001), CPC Health/ Chestnut Lodge Hospital. I am currently a Clinical Associate Professor in the Professional Psychology Program at The George Washington University (2005-present). In addition to private practice, I have been an individual and group therapist at two multi-disciplinary schools, Windsor School (1989-1992) and The Lodge School (1988-2006 and 2011-present).
