Full-service college counseling that includes: assistance in identifying colleges that mesh with students’ interests and background; organization of the application process from start to finish; the development of realistic schedules to ensure that all deadlines are met and all components of the application get the attention they need; advice on college visits; guidance on high school courses and activities; recommendations on whether to take the SAT or ACT, or both, and how best to prepare for the test; assistance in identifying and applying for financial aid; advice on whether transitional opportunities between high school and college – such as work, travel, or internship programs – should be explored; and workshops for school and community groups.
BIOGRAPHY:
Ph.D. in Sociology. College counseling since 2002. Over 25 years of experience studying higher education access and finance issues as a researcher and professor. Authored and co-authored numerous reports and articles on college costs and financial aid for policy makers, researchers, parents and students.
