SERVICES:
Comprehensive college services include review of test reports, IEPs/504 Plans, student interviews about strengths, interests, suggestions for coursework, community service and activities to broaden student opportunities, discussions about college entrance exams, creation of a customized list of colleges to fit the student’s profile, practice with assistive technologies, assistance with college essays, preparation for interviews, and rehearsal of self-advocacy strategies.
BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Brodsky received a B.S., M.Ed., Ed.S., and Ed.D. in special education at University of Maryland and George Washington University. Her specialty areas include learning disabilities and ADHD, transition to post-secondary options, and educational advocacy and leadership. For more than 40 years, Dr. Brodsky has taught in both the public and private sector, working in K-12 settings, and supervised and mentored new teachers in a large urban school system. Dr. Brodsky has taught at local universities, working with undergraduate and graduate students who were studying to become teachers. She volunteers in the community as a mentor to young adults in their future pursuits. Professional memberships include: MD-AHEAD; CEC- Divisions of Learning Disabilities, Gifted Education, Career Development and Transition; CHADD; LDA-MD; NCLD, and 2e (Twice Exceptional).
