- Parenting coach: Teaches Dr. Dan Shapiro's Parent Child Journey classes; collaborates with parents to help them determine the most effective ways to support their children.
- Special Needs Care Navigation: Provides parents, teachers, and clinicians with the tools they need to confidently and effectively help their children with ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, and other challenges.
- Relationship Development Intervention (RDI): Parents learn how to teach their children the essential skills that make relationships work.
BIOGRAPHY:
Sarah C. Wayland, Ph.D. is the owner and founder of Guiding Exceptional Parents. She got her Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from Brandeis University studying how people understand spoken language. A passionate advocate for children with learning disabilities, she has served on the Board of Directors for the Parents' Place of Maryland, the Special Education Citizens’ Advisory Committee of Prince George’s County, the Individual Differences in Learning Association in Howard County, and The Arc of Prince George’s County. Dr. Wayland has also served on the Special Education State Advisory Committee, and she has been trained as a Parents’ Place of Maryland Special Education LEADer.
